#BecauseILoveYou

For whatever reason, we all seem to get it twisted.

Loving you does not grant you a quilted throne at the top of the totem pole.

I put myself first at all times, but because I love you, your best interest is always in mind.

I can only love you so well because I truly love myself.

A push here and a push there, simultaneously letting us both achieve greater goals.

Not favoring one or ignoring the other, hand in hand, but never smothered.

Being happy with you is just a reflection of how happy I am with myself,

Which ultimately leads me to believe that I can no longer store myself away on a shelf.

What's best for me could be what's best for you too,

But we'll only ever know if we give each other enough space to grow.

Individuals who are crazy in love,

But because I love you, when push comes to shove,

It's myself who takes the number one spot and everyone else who's already lost at that shot.

And because I love you, I'm able to love myself.
