#BecauseILoveYou

I never knew what love was
until I met you,
You showed me care and compassion
like it came out of the blue.

My other relationships
hadn't lasted this long,
but ours was destined
like a perfect love song.

You taught me so much,
including how to love myself,
you weren't like the others
I wasn't a used prize on your shelf.

You taught me to see the good,
even when I myself felt bad,
and you always know how to help
even when I am sad.

I'm thankful for you everyday,
because without you I wouldn't be happy,
and #BecauseILoveYou,
I made this poem extra sappy.
