#BecauseILoveYou

Because I love you,
I want you to know:
I'll be with you,
no matter where you go.

Because I love you,
I'll watch you stive, reach, and dive
for the things you really want in life,
you'll soar high in the sky.

Because I love you,
I'll only want the best for you,
not just any will do.

Because I love you,
you're my lantern in the dark of night,
the light of my world,
the key to my fight.

Because I love you,
I will never ask for you to be put in harm's way;
I'll only ask that you stay
for me when I'm old and weak.

Because I love you,
I ask that you care for others,
the same as you would your mother and father.
After all, we're all neighbors and strangers going about life in the same direction.

See, I know that not all love is warm and kind like I've vowed to show.

I just hope that you never have to see what evils are out there:
Why person would muder fifty strangers for no reason.
Why a father would abandon his own children for a Lady of the Night.
Why a drunkard would drive home, striking a family of five in their car.

Because I love you,
I just want you to know:
I have done my best,
and my best is all I owe.
