#BecauseILoveYou

Stopping at the porch door, I hesitantly look back

Into the sullen room I once again escaped.

Why do things have to be like this?

“Because I love you,” he blistered.

The door slams behind me; I’ll never turn back.

I stay a wallflower, never meaning any harm-

And staying out of harm’s way.

Surviving the emptiest of droughts, I search for steady showers

And came across a monsoon.

With open arms, my sweetheart eases my deserted sentiment.

How did things work out like this?

“Because I love you,” he declaims.

And this time, I weep of bliss.
