Becoming

been going through the same cycle for years

i always wanted to change gears

always thought change is inevitable

i never had time for the girl I see in the mirror

I never admired her

it took me years to realize my worth and now I know nothing can shake me

maybe it's a good thing that I lost myself

maybe it's a good thing I never turned back and retraced my steps

Maybe it's a good thing I learnt to accept my flaws

and stopped looking for validation in boys who don't even know their worth

I'm glad I finally entered the phase of knowing myself

and reinventing me

so don't come to me and tell me I changed

do not come to me and tell me you miss the old me

when you left her bleeding

and drowning in her sorrows

Thank you for not saving me

now I know nobody can help me except me

I'm honored that I fell in the hands if Christ our King

and I am finally royal again
