Becoming
No Thing Is
All is Becoming
Thus this perpetual and
Mind numbing humming
Of all things becoming and
Journeying on
‘Til to nothingness fade
And are nothing are gone
As the dawn becomes day
And it fades into night
In this perpetual cycle
Vast aeons make flight
Though the light of the candle
Grows dim and dies out
Energy e’er lacks the power to flout
The Law that demands that
It ne’er be destroyed
Though of warmth and of light
We may indeed feel bereft
The ashes of flames
Pile up and are left
For a later employment
To be toyed with by some other forces.
In a void there is no choice but to Become
All things now or later
Once again Become One

Philosophical meditation on becoming, entropy, cyclical time, energy conservation.
Dense layering of metaphysical concepts; multiple interconnected ideas per passage.
Melancholic acceptance; existential loss tempered by cosmic inevitability and continuity.
Restless, insistent repetition of 'becoming'; momentum from long lines and enjambment.
Approximately 22 lines; falls within 16-30 range.
Rich metaphors: candle, flame, ashes, dawn/day/night cycles; personification of forces.
Pure lyric voice; internal philosophical meditation without dramatic persona or narrative.
