Becoming a Ballet Teacher

Tutus and tiny slippers

running onstage

hopeful

the encore resonates.

Bounces to a higher level

no trepidation

glide into position

pique up, step step saute.

Lights bright marley glissens

as musical

notes of instruction

bring shape to graceful forms.

Single  corrections

bound in unison

the dance releases

what it embraces.

A company dancer

now the master

sheltering

the delicacy of dreams.

Ballet delivered in

multiple moments

while a rapid pirouette

springs forward.

Small hearts' joy

in time and tradition

I co-mingle forever

in their imagination.
