Becoming the Future Me

Sometimes its hard

but I still try

askng myself

is this what I want?

Will I be a good nurse?

Shuold I just go back home and figure something else out?

I'm so close,

I go to classes and work hard

working towardsthe best grades,

but always falling short of an A.

I was told it would all be worth it in the end.

Leaving home and moving away from friends and family

but it's hard not being close,

I'm okay.

Yet sometimes I wish

that the nothingness I sometimes feel would swallow me whole.

I'm so close though

to starting my Nursing classes.

So close to having the job I used to only dream about.

So proud of myself

for starting to become the person that the present me,

could only dream about.
