Becoming Me

Becoming me was not an easy ride,

becoming me was not an easy find.

Moving to the U.S and feeling out of place,

learning to speak English felt like a race.

I had many tough and challenging days

that allowed me to find myself in many ways.

Becoming me made me passionate and motivated,

to succeed in life and remain amalgamated.

Being the first in the family to earn a degree

was a great honor that helped become me.

Growing up was not always fun,

but becoming me was always my number one.

Having this move be part of my story

allowed me to succeed and create my own glory.

Becoming me has made me proud and excited

to know that I am now an adult and feeling delighted.
