Becoming One

Since the day you are born you have needs.

Everyday you will find a new thing to need.

As I grow older, I realize my needs evolve.

Evolving from needing a parent to support me

To a college freshman slowly becoming an adult.

I need to represent my generation.

I came to win.

To fight

To conquer

To thrive

For my generation.

A generation struggling to overcome

The social injustices that were built

By the ones before us.

A last few words for the ones who still believe

That our nation

Our world

Don’t go crying to your momma when

You’re all alone in the real world.
