Begining of the School Year

And my heart caves in when I look at you, so yeah

I hope your heart does the same because when i see the way you embrace her

I know I was never the one you wanted

You found me and while you have me you found a better version

An update as you would say

Now you’re happy

With your updated version

But why do you keep glancing over your shoulder at me?

Can you sense the last shred of love I still have for you?

Everyday I am tortured by the fact that you moved on in less than 24 hours

While I cannot fathom why you did what you did

My heart conflicts with the truth

The truth that you will only hurt me more

But my heart clings to that sweet devil’s kiss

These poems that I write about you

The speak of the truth

Every bitter drop of it

How you kissed me everyday

How we stayed up all night

How we almost had a mental connection

But it all came crumbling down when the new girl came into your life

And dazzled your puny mind

When sparks flew off your tongue in all those movies that I cannot remember

You thought of her

Because when I glance over my shoulder at you

And my eyes meet yours

I can savor the bittersweet connection we make
