The Beginning
At first nothing
Then breath, lungs moving, heart beating, blood pumping
I open my eyes.
Ever so dim light yet
Overwhelming, luminous, harsh
Then a voice, spoken from above
Gentle, coaxing, pleading
I turn my head
A Face
Wild hair, pale face, strange features
I stand up
A scream
Why?
Who am I?
Am I a monster?
That creature, that being
He looks at me
I reach towards him
A single hand
Friend?
A Scream, louder, more piercing than the first
The creature runs
Away from me
I am
ALONE
