The Beginning of the End

Entering this combat was a battle itself.

Four years of hardship where I had to fend for myself.

It came at times where I found it unbearable.

Being placed in conditions so terrible.

But don't you know that pressure turns coal into diamonds?

I emerged out of a cage of lions.

The knowledge I gained,

left me unrestrained.

They were right, my high school story was nothing like the cliché.

Some of these people kept getting in my way.

I was inside jail walls but much to their dismay,

it kept me wondering, was this really okay? All this struggle just to get an A?

Sometimes I still wonder if the sleep deprivation, high frustration and lack of motivation was worth it.

But I am way too deep in this pit.

I’ll just wait until one day where my light will shine bright.

Then they will all see who was right.

Sure, one day I'll be glad I was locked inside that cage.

And proceed to grab on to thoe memories already made

because soon enough they will all fade.

Before another end and new beginning,

Promise to live when the world goes winning.

Promise me when you fall, you will remember to rise again.

Before it ends, do not start in vain.
