The beginning of the end

The humans are dead

The world is restored

To the glory of which I had only heard.

No trash in oceans,

Or dead animals lining the streets,

Just nature the way it is supposed to be.

We brought this upon ourselves, but not in the way it seems.

No, pollution did not kill us, greed was our ultimate downfall.

Babies can be created with specific features,

Blue eyes,

Size six feet,

Brown hair,

They are no longer children,

They are just creatures.

Creatures that have been created for the parent’s delight.

Scientists went even further

Taking genes from animals and placing them in humans.

That was the beginning of the end for the human race.

The first child to be born with blue feathers was the catalyst,

Next came tails,

Then beaks,

Then exoskeletons,

The experiments did not stop.

The children were kept in facilities

Poked and prodded every day

Never to see the sun.

The new species had finally had enough.

They took up arms and fought the humans,

The humans that surrendered were spared,

The ones that didn’t were not.

Eventually the humans died out,

leaving only the new beings that we had created.

They stopped the pollution,

Preferred to live amongst nature and not destroy it,

Cleaned the oceans,

And healed the Earth.

That is how the human race ended,

And how a new one began.
