Beginning: February 2001

The cold breeze flew by,

So did I.

Born in a Miami Hospital.

Mom held me in her arms,

covered in blankets

from head to toe,

since the doctor said that it would be best.

I came in no rush,

four days later than when

my mom expected.

To hear my parents tell it,

I was patient and took my time at birth,

and patient I was, ever since.

Daddy always wanted a girl,

so his princess arrived.

A princess

who was long-legged

wih hair like silk

and a smile that stretched for miles.

He got a strong-hearted girl

with a fondness for books

and a hunger for singing and acting.

From the earliest I can remember,

there was always silent

feel of terror gnawing at the free world.

I never saw the Twin Towers,

but the sadness of the of the loss.

Passenger planes crashed into

our symbols of liberty

to wreak havoc in our hearts,

for our country to be prejudiced to innocents,

but I will never do that.

Mom had had two other babies.

Both of them were adorable,

little brothers.

Other than the five of us, there’s much more family to speak of.

Mommy’s little brother lives

in California with my aunt and cousin sister and brother.

Mommy’s cousins live in PA and VA

giving me three more cousins.

Some of my family lives

as close as South Carolina,

or as far as India.

I’ve been sixteen for some time,

been working on my passions

and soon to be talents.

Will there be another event breaking out soon
