Beginning My Legacy

(poems go here) I'm the only me that there could ever be. You see My humility surrounded by a high level of smart ability. Or abilities should I say, grows daily like that there tree. Daddy told me to float like a butterfly, sting like a bee I give credit to the For blessing my mother with what I studied in biolo-gy Born, here in this moving town, the city of the "purple sprite" But that there is much to far from my delight Houston Texas is my home, star on the flag, oh so bright. No not the flag hanging from the left side, nor the right The blue "C rag" or the one banged color red in which the two do fight But me, not about that life for my boots would be shaking from fright Moving along let me give you a location No not the final destination But where I emerged from my mother like a yellow carnation With little hesitation I beautiful mixed child blessed this nation... St Joseph hospital, employment place of my "gammy" I swear if there was a Grammy Grammy award for best nanny With a smile and laugh to light up the room like my friend Tammy As you all say she would have won it hands down! I swear she was the best grandmother around. In the room I was born she showed her face room one oh three if I can remember correct, correctly let me see Born on the 16th I was a "pre-me". Yes I, regardless of early or late Never ever forget the date, September 16th, 1995. I opened my eyes And for the first time realized That these here real eyes, they realize, those real lies. To this day that holds true Just as true as the sky is blue... Or white... Well, orange pink and red just before night. Prettiest sight to my eyes, your eyes, his hers and theirs I'm sure. Such an allure Or maybe an array Of colors since my eyes they do sometimes stray From colors in their truth. But trust in me when I say that never held me back from enjoying my youth. Dasia, that is in fact my name but rarely do I ever hear it. Forever a little tike in spirit 3rd and fifth grade teacher named Mrs Schmit As far as recollection of my childhood safe to say I only remember a bit But when my parents are enraged And so far engaged In my activities that they so heavily tend to weigh, scale, and gauge Iman is what is pre staged Before the yelling and telling of my wrong doings and ways But not always so negative, I really should give Credit to those who use Iman as more of a regulative Portion of their vocabulary. The origin of my name a tab bit glarey Not sure of if it came from Aunt Terry or Ms Sherry But I do know that it's mine Lovely, beautiful but more so divine I really don't have a great reflection of my past time Or times, if we're grammatical So I backed it up an article And asked my mother about the past days She rolled her eyes and seem unphased I assumed there were to many periods of grays In which she turned her life to praise And worship the man above with glorious ways So I guess a fib I told The origin of my name is actually gold Golden in every aspect I give my mom the highest honor and respect For the name she blessed me with was meant to lift Gift of God and I myself find it pretty swift
