Behind

Dear You,

You know who you are.
So do I…I think.
I think – so I can act, and you always made me act without thinking.

Now what?
You’re gone. Good.
So why bother with this?
Why bother with a letter to someone like you.
You honestly don’t deserve it.

Or maybe you do?
To be honest…I wish I knew

I wish I knew what you needed.
I know what you want…

I have never thought about you as much as I have these past days.
Which I hate.

I gave up on you.
Not because you needed it,
Not because I needed it,
But because I WANTED it.

I breathed and the atmosphere felt clear
The colors came back one by one
Chasing away the black and white
the further you drove away from me.

Amazing.

I don’t think you understand what you have done,
to me, to your friends, to anyone
You left a bitter aftertaste in the mouth of this place
An aftertaste we will never be able to wash out.

You lied to us. You cheated us. You used us
You buried your secrets in us to save yourself.
Now, we can’t say anything about you without hurting SOMEONE

This is what you did.
So.
Does it feel good?
Do you feel anything?

I guess no one will ever know.

Who am I to speak for everyone else, though?
They aren't done putting you ahead of everything.
Who knows what they will do in the future

Me?
What am I doing?
I'm leaving you behind.
Once and for always.

Don't bother looking for me.
Don't bother trying.
If I ever say I'm missing you
You should know I'm probably lying

Leaving you behind is tough, however, I know that I'll be fine
This is my goodbye
No - my good riddance
My final line.
