behind a camera
Bikers speeding, cars honking, buildings up high, life is rapidly passing by. Click. The shutter opens. In that moment, that one sixtieth of a second I capture a moment in time. Everything is motionless. The shutter closes.
Being behind a camera is something so simple, yet so surreal. I have the power to freeze time. There is no way to ever go back, and memories become vague, but photographs never change. Everyone is always in a rush, moving from place to place not giving a second thought to the fact that time doesn't stop.
With every angle and contrast something different is seen, one shot more beautiful than the one before. Purely focusing on the subject, I feel content. It is just me and the flower or the building or the boy, or whatever I chose. I become oblivious to the world surrounding me.
Pictures are the only evidence left behind that prove we even existed. They bring us back to moments we wish to relive. The freedom and peace I feel is something unexplainable. It's my life.
