Behind Closed Doors

Behind closed doors was another story

Behind closed doors was not the picture that was painted Sunday mornings

Behind closed doors was three women walking on eggshells

Behind closed doors the women were unsure what would be the trigger that night

Behind closed doors they all had bags packed close by

Sunday mornings came and were known as "the fake day"

He would preach a message on how to live according to the word

But behind closed doors, he would come home and beat his wife

Behind closed doors he would lay his hands on his children in abusive ways

Behind closed doors was the most high pitched of sounds

Glass busting here, glass busting there , all that was ever heard was the sound of glass busting everywhere

The screaming, the yelling, the banging, the smashing

Behind closed doors his daughter cringed in silence as the officers shoes stepped on the glass creating a crunching sound

Behind closed doors his daughter begged him to stop

She said "Daddy please dont hurt mommy"

On that night his daughter must of said the wrong thing

On that night his daughter was also abused, chased, picked up, and thrown

On that night his daughter called the police

On that night he was arrested, only to find out a few hours later he was set free

On that night his wife thought it would end there

Little did she know, it was only the beginning of a much more traumatizing fight
