Behind The Glass
put behind faded glass
my image blurred and crass
they make what they want to see
rather than what I'm meant to be
behind the glass I sit
trying not to lose it
because they want the image to be
the real and actual me
but take the filter away
and the morphing hands do stray
I can stand, free to be
whoever I want to be
free to be spazzy at last
free to be a writer at last
free to be shameless at last
free to be a human at last
