Behind the Lens

Never in the photographs

But always named

Hardships pressed upon them

Forced to find an easier way

Inflicting pain becomes a haven

The only way out that is seen.

They don't factor in the guilt

Or they don't expect it

Either way, it hangs around them

Like dark clouds.

It darkens their names

But they can't escape it

Pain inflicted, on themselves and others,

Following, hovering

Until they can no longer bear the guilt
