Behind The Lens

Pose, flash, pout, flash

“Its what the camera wants” I hear

The neverending light in my face, shining away who I am

“That’s it, the camera loves you!” Why?

It doesn’t know me, therefore it can not love me.

The shutters and filters hide the real me.

My timid shell and the will not to rebel,

They see the goodie goodie that is me, but there’s more.

I can scream and shout, I can cry and bleed, do more than pout.

I draw, write and create for a better generation,

Think, work and watch cartoons for inspiration.

A picture says a thousand words, but mine breaks the scale,

I live, learn, love and excel

In whatever I try.

No more filters, no more lies.
