Behind the Mask

Behind the mask is a girl in pain.

Behind the mask is a girl that struggles.

This girl is like a puzzle, missing pieces here and there

Pieces that crumbles like an old abandoned house.

A girl that needs to be like and approved by everyone,

so she can fill in that missing piece of her daddy’s love and approval.

No matter if she is mistreated.

She will pushed the pain down,

Convince herself that someday you will change.

Saying “ I’m sorry, I promise that I have or will change and you’re beautiful”

Can easily fool her and able to take advantage of her.

She will always put herself last before others.

Kids are so mean to her,

still she never say anything,

or raise her fists.

She just takes the blows and try to change herself.

She wears baggy clothes to hide her fat

She does anything to make herself smart.

Through all of this she believes that there are good in people

All they need is a second chance.

She feels alone

Everyone is consumed with drama or other things

to want to see

Hear her pain

I’m that girl that

Smiles

Listens

Laugh

Jokes around everyday

But no one notices what’s behind my mask

All they see is

A mask that is made out of smiles, confidence, happiness, and a zest for life.

I hide behind my mask because I’m afraid

I will push people away

That no one cares

That no one will help me

Just maybe they will see

My pain

My struggles

Want to help me through it
