Behind the Mask

Taking off my mask

so you can see me for who I really am

I know you've seen what I wanted you to

you see the perfect girl all wrapped up nicely

but deep beneath the mask is shattered pieces

of a girl bound tightly

in a chain of tears

judgement clouded by fears

left alone in a dark room

dragged down to the level of a nobody

skin torn, scars stricken by the devil himself

love never in a heart

taking off this mask

hope you can handle what comes next

don't close your eyes

you might be surprised

by how much you like who I am
