Behind my Smile

Behind my smile I hide a lot of feelings.

No one knows what’s deep down inside this heart.

This heart is as silent as a mouse.

You can’t hear it loudly but can see it.

It relieves itself by crying out tears and screaming.

Screaming loud and long enough.

But not loud enough for others to hear it.

It stays to itself so it doesn’t get hurt.

Keeping the feelings it has tucked inside.

So far within that when people come by it doesn’t show it.

Letting the pain she feels fall by the waist side.

So that she doesn’t have to pick it back up.

She sometimes can’t receive the proper love because of it.

She wants to be able to love others knowing she wont get hurt.

She ready to give up that old pain.

And ready to take a chance at another life.
