Behind the Smile

They only see her smile,

a face can be an untold lie.

No one knows the the true feelings inside,

she even hides from herself.

When will the sun shine,

it's always raining in her mind.

Disconnected from the world,

she is the definition of alone.

You always see joy,

never true sadness and aches.

People see what they choose,

they never care if your okay.

Alone, the mask is off,

many nights tears shut her eyes.

So confused about her place here,

not knowing what to do.

Few words can end this,

but they will never understand.

The funny thing is,

neither will she.
