Behind the Smile

I live simply

My life is one of no interest

Sometimes people look over me

with no recognition of who I am

But there is more to me then that

The part no one sees

I have a story in my mind

Like everyone else

Behind the smile

There is something more

The fears and worries

Always consume

Expectations abound

My head is spinning

What’s most important?

Grades, People, Music?

I think too hard

Maybe I over exaggerate sometimes

My smile is rarely real

So maybe look a little closer

You may think I’m crazy

I worry a lot

But in all honesty

That’s who I am

So Accept It
