Behind the Words
I don’t think I’m good at “writing poetry.”
I don’t know how to turn my “poems” into something beautiful,
Something that has meaning.
Something that, I, or anyone could love.
I try but it never seems right.
Sometimes my “poems” feel too empty,
Too void of actual emotion.
And other times I feel that my “poems” may come off as so complicated and overwhelming
That no one, not even myself, could ever truly understand its meaning or purpose.
And I wonder if I should just stop "writing poetry."
Saving myself from sleepless nights and endless fustration.
But I continue.
Hoping that one day I get back the joy I once had from "poems."
I understand that “writing poetry” can be difficult.
It doesn’t come easy to everyone.
But I wish it did for me.
Because, honestly, I want to continue “writing poetry.”
But I am not sure that I can.
Through my poetry I was better able to understand my depression and the reasoning behind my reason for no longer being able to write poetry.
"poems"= life "writing poetry"= living
