Being Alive
So you ask yourself why and how?
How could I let this happen I am nothing now.
It's all apart of life, steps you take until you see the light,
darkness will try to invade its your job to prevail,
and live to tell,
your journey from hell,
who cares if they believe you or not, oh well,
your life is just like a story, that you can show and tell,
you won't know what happens next until you turn the page,
in real life its just a new day of age,
God's gift to you to prepare and engage,
you look at someone you seem to cherish,
praying to God that they never perish,
I want someone I can put my arm around,
that will smile be proud and not frown,
without feeling ashamed,
and maybe one day when we're old share the same last name,
I just want to have a girl to love,
I would treat her right as delicate as a dove,
we lay on the grass together and look above,
we think to ourselves wow what a ride,
I look into her eyes and I tell her,
thats what it means to be alive.
