Being the best

Mediocrity is safe, there is no failure

My favorite is this, I can’t disappoint

No one is dueling, unthreatened position

I am safe in this, comfortable

Constant mental agony, I disappoint me

Too scared to reach, steps are miles

I do not wish, so I don’t

I see myself there, I hide it from me

Finger tips can brush it, “want” turning to “have”

Stamina, expelled

Still reaching, close.
