Being Black.....

Being Black in America is scary

Being Black in America is painful 

Because you have to be on all 10 toes 24/7

Because you never know when your time can come 

Being Black in America is draining 

Being Black in America is depressing 

Because we lose more love ones then any race within minutes 

Because you can be talking to one person then Bang Either you or that persons life has now been taking by another black person

Being Black in America is despairing 

Being Black in America is Tragic

Because with all us young African Americans doing stupid things and being fools and dropping like flies every single day is there going to be any of us left to tell Our story not the story people want us to know or the story history wants us know about our actually story, our actual Lives not the lives they want us to live 

Being Black in America is threatening 

Being Black in America is dreadful 

Being Black in America is time consuming 

Because we never know exactly how long we have to Live 

Because we worry every day when we walk outside or a love one walks out into this dangerous world well Being Black in America it's like we walk around with a Target on our backs or words or give away signs that just read "kill me I wanna be dead now", "I don't want to return to my family safe and sound", "I don't want to see tomorrow"

Being Black in America is terrifying

Because we worry every day when we walk outside or a love one walks out into this dangerous world while Being Black in America we'll be our last day
