Being a Black Teen

being a black teen ...

being a black teen is a blessing and a curse . we go to bed wondering if the next time we see our parents we'll be in a hearse...
no one cares about our life or what we have accomplished until our life is taken through reckless and evil-minded conflict...
we've been taught that knowledge is power but how is 12 years of learning gone help me when theres a gun in my face & things are getting sour? hows the quadratic formula going to stop the white man from pulling the trigger ? i suppose the Pythagorean theorem is going to stop him from thinkin im just another nigga?

What about the times that we haven't used the useless lesson, teaching about the sides but not about our oppression. What about the new chains that keep our bands from getting up. Cops are metaphorically kobe because they shoot even when the hands go up. They see me different because the pigment of my skin. Thats like comparing a blowout to the greatest of the wins.Maybe im wrong or maybe its just the way that I word it. But I think that life is being taken quicker than the videos starting recorded. And No matter how many times the witnesses agree, they wont be happy until all of us are extinct.

being a black teen is a blessing and a curse we are taught to appreciate our heritage that is stripped away from us quicker than the white women clutches her purse . we are told to love ourselves our melanin is popping. but the only popping black teens can imagine is the sound of a gun cocking. the gun in the hands of those men who are supposed to protect us but instead they select us. select us and neglect us. they rid us of our humanity while the white criminal gets the privilege of pleading insanity but yet we're the bad ones. but yet we're the thugs tht are corrupting society. these pigs are making black murders their top priority
