Being Different

Symbol of power

Seemingly unapproachable by all means

Looming over my meek, feeble frame

I am just another one of those troubled teens

Figure of authority

Above me in every sinlge way

But I need someone to speak with

I can no longer take being gay

Those around me won't listen

They just bully and tease

Being different can be a curse

It leaves me in incessant unease

But here is an adult

Mature, respectable, and just

We are essentially unalike

Yet he is the only one I trust

I want to tell him of my struggles

Let all of these suppresed emotions out

In a fiery eruption of words;

A verbal uproaring and an impassioned shout

But then I realize he is just a teacher

Nothing more, nothing less

Asking for advice about my sexuality would be absurd

So these emotions I must once again suppress
