Being Heard

I don’t know if I’m being heard,

Or what’s happening to my words,

I don’t know if you care,

But, we have feelings to share,

So, in secrecy I can write,

Put up some sort of fight,

Rebel against what’s unknown,

Give my anger a home,

A place to reside,

Instead of trying to hide,

Let my thoughts be free,

Be who I want to be,

In secret,

Hidden behind a screen,

I’ll type away,

Day after day,

Tape things here and there,

Hoping that you’ll see and stare,

Reading and letting it be known,

That we, you, are not alone,

Perhaps this is a waste of time,

But the time I’m wasting is mine,

And waste it I shall,

Typing, thinking, creating,

Though hidden I remain,

My fight will never fade.
