being human

They spoke up for their rights,

But we create gangs.

They fought for their freedom,

But we are still slaves to ignorance.

They did all these things

But we take it for granted.

You aren’t bettering yourselves.

We still have one of the lowest educations,

But we say we aren’t treated equal

We are the offspring of victims,

But we still try to make us the victim.

Now we have a choice to choose

Civilized, or barbarian.

They tried their hardest to give us what we wanted,

But did all that go to waste.

If we want true equality we have to better society

Not make it worse.

People fear us because of stereotypes

We aren’t evil

We aren’t ignorant.

We choose to do so.

We choose to “fit in”

Why “fit in” in a world so small

When we could take the world under our wing.

We have to stand up

We can’t resort to violence

We can’t be controlled by ignorance anymore.

We have to do the right thing.

We have to show others that our lives matter.

Because how can someone say their life matters

When you go kill for gangs.

How can someone take you seriously?

We are one

We are humans,

So act like it.
