Being Invisible

I am not seen. Ignored. As if looking through glass.
I am the glass. Being looked through.
I get scratches, smears, and fog.
I have been through many things
Divorce, wars, births, deaths
I have seen it all
But I am just glass.
I get people to walk right past me.
To look out in the world.
For them to see their reflection.
Why do they only see their issues
It wouldn't be there if they were to fix it as a whole
I see things they don’t. The chaos build up.
They only try making their looks impress people
When we need to make things visible, things to be heard.
Don’t let this crappy world tear you down like a mountain.
Break you apart as if your broken glass
Being stepped on piercing the feet of people
People who see less in us, who look down on us
Cutting them as their blood spills out
The screeching sounds of pain that call out to me
We need to join together, even if we are broken.
The only way to be fixed is not by glue or tape.
But by the people who truly care. They mold us.
They mend us together, because they see our true value.
So I don’t care if people look through me
As long as there are people who can see my worth I will be ok
