Being A Kid

Being a kid is always fun
15, 12, 16 and 1
It doesn't matter what age you are
Being a kid is always fun

You laugh and joke at school with your friends
All you need to do is count a little over ten
No bills to pay, no never-ending debt
No wonder being a kid isn't even a sweat

Mum pays the fees for you to go to school and sleep
Don't pay attention and your grades fall dramatically
Skip class, don't pass its alright with me
Why do all the kids these days think life is a breeze?

Being a kid isn't always fun
18, 12 , 16 or 1
It doesn't matter what age you are
Being a kid isn't always fun

I forgot to do my work and dad's shouting at me
I never meant to disappoint I tried my best to be
The idealistic academic you've always wanted to see
But school's a stress,life's a mess and I'm just a kid you see?

My best friend told me I was nothing and walked away from me
I'm so depressed I must express I can't concentrate on anything
My teachers parents and everyone keep talking about degrees
When actually in reality I don't know what to be

Being a kid is a mix of stuff
Sadness fun confusion and tough
The only reason we make it through
Is the dream of being independent too

Weren't adults kids once too?
Going through everything that we do
The only thing that's got me talking
Is how all the adults have forgotten
