Being Myself

I'm trying my hardest but it's not good enough

It's never good enough

But, I will finally put a stand for it and be me.

I won't care anymore

If I don't talk the "correct" way,

Walk the "correct" way,

Or even dress the "correct" way,

Because there's no such thing as the "correct" way !

I'm going to walk my walk,

talk my talk,

and wear what makes me confident.

And if that's not good enough then let it be !

At least I'm being me

My petite, courageous, brave, down to earth, caring, free spirited, outspoken, adventurous, and at times timid self,

I won't be what others expect me to be

A doctor

A lawyer

A nurse

Or even an actor,

I'll be a speech pathologist !

I do what makes me happy,

I dance, paint, explore, hike, and most importantly I act myself,

Well, at least I try to !

I do what puts a smile on my face

which is what I want to do for somene day,

Because perfection and the "correct" way of acting simply DOES NOT exist,

Perfection is what I make of life and how I decide to live it !
