Being Tested

That was easy,

For me and you,

Didn't like you speaking to the driver,

Not sure I like you.

Can't hang around,

Got things to do,

Can't hang around,

Unsettling to be around you.

Tim is a good guy,

With an addictive personality,

Get on so well,

He wants to help me.

The truth is,

I read him like a book,

Sniffed too much charlie,

Tim's out of luck.

Connected too lads,

Heavier than you,

Brookbourne's the name,

Larger city through and through.

Know this isn't a stitch up,

Too much at stake,

Tim is proper,

All on the take.

Got to speak to a guy, called The Wrestler,

Unbelievably,

Can't believe someone calls themselves that,

Street name to avoid being captured, totally.

Meet at a bar,

In a place called Rippon,

Great atmosphere in here,

Everyone is trippin.

Eyes and phones connect,

Simultaneously,

Get the polite stuff out the way,

Formally.

Suddenly we talk business,

Go for a walk,

Something,

Missing?

No, no, this is the way it is, see,

If we don't have a line together,

I'll think your old bill,

Being tested see.

Ha ha like it too,

Not a regular drug taker,

But I'll do this time round,

To impress you.

That's it son,

I like you now,

Let's have a drink,

Sit yourself down.

The wrestler is on board,

Eagerly,

Wants to do some business,

Get Tim's debt paid back to me.

We talk some more,

Hash and charlie,

Prices agreed,

Fist bump and arrange another meeting shortly.

WestLondonMan

Like a lot of us been through shitty parts in my life. In 2018 I was living in London, attending a part time acting school. It was a great time. Also I was presenting at an event, one of the tutors at the acting school took me under his wing and mentored me. Part of that process he taught me how to write poetry, or at least express myself through it. Now, I write a poem every day, I write for a hobby. I've had a varied career, the only thing I can say is writing is the best things I've ever done. I absolutely love it. Have got 14 publications on a short story website and launching my own website in December 2022, http://www.PeterGreenhall.com Feel free to add any comments. I hope you enjoy reading my poems as much as I enjoyed putting them together.
