A Belated Explanation

I wish you could feel the pain in my heart

Know the confusion in my head

Understand why I wouldn’t care if I was dead

Love my bleeding heart,

And let's move on

Because I really hate this part

You don’t know my name

And for that only I am to blame

I valued freedom, that much more than fame

As much as I hope to live my life

I know I will always love you

But being apart causes so much strife

No matter what I do,

No matter who I love

Nothing I do will ever be good enough

This love is forever unrequited

Whether or not I deserve this love

I will always feel slighted

Because it never got its chance

And I was too heartbroken

To notice your first advance

I wish you saw me,

When I saw you

Because then I knew,

We could have had a love so true

But, alas, you will never have a clue

For my feelings, I could never articulate

And yours I did'nt know how to reciprocate

Between you and I

Romeo and Juliet

Weren't stars crossed in the sky

Compared to you and me

Their lives didn’t end in tragedy

They got to be marriied

And lived forever after happily

And really, we can’t be

Together

Contented

We’re more like

Enemies

Resented

Falling, Fighting

Freeing, Frightening

Our passion as striking as lighting

So my one will never be our two

And I’ve been forced to make peace

With that though it wasn’t what I wanted to do

Believe me, I want you to know who I really am

Even though you thought it was nothing but a hoax

But, I tell you this

What I felt for you wasn't part of any joke.

But, it only took an instant

For everything to change

To change my life forever

And forever I'll never be the same.
