Believe

You taught me to believe
Even though these twisted thoughts
That I can't help to conceive
Don't reflect what you taught me

I was in a dreary place
Trapped in a prison of unbelief
Then you showed me the peace
That you have achieved

I began to believe
When you started to change
Even when things were bleak
You taught me to perceive

Not all things are heinous
Though that's what I was taught
This world is wondrous
You taught me to believe
