They’ll bring up your past self just to protect their own selves. They’ll paint an image of who you used to be and let that image hold you captivity. They’ll tell you that you’ve never changed and tell others a story that’s rearranged.  They’ll spit, stomp, and throw dirt on your name and leave you feeling ashamed. They’ll do whatever they can just to get you to go back to that life again, but you’re someone they’ll never be, and that’s what they refuse to see. You walked through the darkness that was meant to destroy you, and you came out brand new. You fought the devil alone and you’re the reason he’s gone. You’re a survivor and now you’re the driver. Your life is now in your control and it’s time for you to let yourself know. You have a choice in listening to what they say and letting it ruin your day or taking that negativity and turning it into positivity. You are not the person you used to be open you eyes and let yourself see. They’re gonna taunt you and say things that’ll only haunt you, but it’s up to you to pull yourself through. It’s up to you to enjoy the life you created for yourself or to give in to everybody else. Don’t let them win and don’t give in. Don’t let them do that to you after all you’ve gone through and grown through. You’re not your past self so don’t go back for anybody else. To the recovering addict you are not the addiction that held you captivity. To the once prisoner you did your time so let yourself be free. To the once lost boy you found yourself now enjoy yourself. To the once abused you are no longer in that situation so don’t carry the pain with your name. To the ones who found themselves lying on the ground alone with no one around you are no longer there you picked yourself up. You fought and won. You don’t have to answer to no one. You are all survivors of a war that not many know about. You all  deserve to let yourselves be free. Don’t be held captivity. It’s in yourself to believe that there is a life where you’re not bound by chains that only you can see. Be who you want to be not who they want you to be, and if you can’t believe in yourself then know that i believe in you. I believe you can get through what you’re going through. I believe you can live peacefully. I believe that you can do this. I believe that you didn’t come this far just to turn around and go back to that life again. I believe that it’s up to you to NEVER give in.
