Believe
I can't live up to who I'm expected to be by some.
Not because I don't want to be,
Not because I don't will it,
But because I'm told that I'm not supposed to be by many.
I'm not making excuses,
I'm following your's.
But doing what you tell me,
Only tells me that you don't believe in me.
When I try to fight against it,
To get ahead of your expectations,
I'm told I'm dumb and crazy,
Not to mention that I suck.
I need you guidance,
I need your leadership,
I need your help,
But most of all,
I need to know that you believe in me.
That you believe that I can follow,
Follow well enough that one day I may lead.
