The Bell

The days go by faster,

with each passing breath.

If I could find a cure,

I'd prevent your death.

I'd give anything,

for just another day.

The last Bell will ring,

and I will have no say.

I'm terrified of grief.

I cannot take a loss.

Scared to turn that leaf.

That path I cannot cross.

So now I close my eyes.

Escape this vivid Hell.

Forget myself in pleasant lies,

and refuse to hear The Bell.
