Bella Ciao

Here we stand World burning around us With shackles on the throats That we would scream raw BELLA CIAO BELLA CIAO BELLA CIAO CIAO CIAO As we face the corruption of power That has taken those who are to defend us And made them our adversary And I will scream BELLA CIAO BELLA CIAO BELLA CIAO CIAO CIAO Redemption seems so close at hand Yet is pulled from our reach As we scrabble to gain ground Against ourselves And many cry Bella Ciao Bella Ciao Bella Ciao Ciao Ciao There is more than one bad apple To ruin this batch As these apples fall closer and closer To the tree we wished to leave behind And so echos the tearful call bella ciao bella ciao bella ciao ciao ciao
