Beloved

The flood gates of my eyes open, as my tears pour out

I remember your call, your gentle voice

The way you said “You’re mine.”

So sweetly, so divine

I kept running, further and further away

Until your voice became so quiet, so still

I felt as though I was finally free.

Free from the mask that I had to put on for others to see.

“Beloved.” The call is so clear

You’re still chasing after me.

Your love still pursues me.

Your voice still calls out to me.

And your arms, they’re wide open,

Because I’m yours, and your mine.
