Beloved

I can't live without being beloved

i don't want to live without being beloved

why apply for college?

Because people will love me for it

why do good in school?

because people will love me for it

Why go to parties knowing it's not your thing

because my friends will love me for it

all of the ' its ' I am doing makes people happy

i don't know what makes me happy, probably making others happy

is that pathetic or is it a Lion's instinct

i must make sure the pride is happy and that the circle of life is as it's supposed to be

or is this just another excuse not to take the time to notice me

my true self, my true self is too hurt, she's too broken

i would rather cut myself picking up other people's shattered glass than my own

my shattered glass is reflective

theres too much to see and too much that was done to me

my glass is foggy, and dull and scratched

even if you picked up the pieces you couldn't put me back together again

if I was alone on an island at least I would know that I am beloved

i would use my shattered glass to reflect the warmth from the sun back to it

because it will love me for it

and I would used my shattered glass to reflect the moons light back to it

because it will love me for it

i would be alone when I die

but I would be beloved
