Below Orion

So here I stand Below Orion Some stars are bright The rest are tryin The night's vast calm The world's low hum It all moves on Unfelt by some A zillion lives So many lands Some seeking hope Raise high their hands Not every life Hears the same tone Just: born and here But then: alone The crowded ones Condensed; compiled All ignorant Of free, of wild So here I think Below Orion The stars unmoved More time they're buyin Our world is small No more to fill With kinship lost Ourselves we kill We each, a cell All of one life Living together Torn by strife Alone is lost As one, we win The unheard voice Above the din One world is ours Not each nor mine Each single life Unique, divine Not one single human soul Alone and cold and crying Matters less than all the rest Of we all, far below Orion
