Ben Wilson Jr.

Ben Wilson Jr. Shot down and the full story is just a mystery he's number one I think about how that relates to me So many dreams I do not think of how it can be taken away from me but see my poetry is the gateway to the future he never got to see At 17 he died from a simple misunderstanding or a robbery his girlfriend is the only one with the answers Best high schooler in the country compared to Michael Jordan and with all honesty the only one who could have dethroned him But how does this relate to me I'm just a poet you see with such a different background no basketball legacy I made it to 19 and I don't even have a girlfriend so what on earth makes you believe I relate to him? He strived to be the best baller in the country I just wish someone would read my poetry and maybe I'd get lucky. A community loved him and valued his every move yet high school I was always put down and ridiculed so different right but not in my eyes. Cause if I died tonight I couldn't witness crying eyes that when I was alive I'd whipe away and make them dry. I want to be the best at anything I ever try I made it to college even after the hate and ridicule. Everyone who ever bullied me have lack of success cause I was doing poetry and in them classes while they were doing there best at other things that to me I wasn't impressed. Two shots took the life of a future hall of famer and two chances in my life I could have stifled any greatness that was set by ambition and expectations of my family. I got her pregnant at 17 and see Ben did the same its just his lady had the baby and mine inflicted the pain of telling me it was aborted so I never did see the first shot that hit me in the body so breath... Cause that last shot was unexpected get to college and I do not know how to get the message lazy gets the best of a student with no money who comes to college with his best friend who they had to take from me. Me and Ben so similar but yet I survive its a shame he couldn't live a full life but on the night I learned of you I wrote a poem for you because your story inspired me to do right. No it won't happen overnight but I want to put my city on my shoulders and do exactly what I told them. I will change the world and take them out of the hood and thanks to Ben Wilson Jr. what I said is now understood I have to make it.
