The bend
It started with a spark and ended with a fizzle
Over the course of two years it grew like a drizzle
Devastating it was to reach the harsh end
but the truth lay just around the bend
Each little drop of oppourtunity rained upon me
Yet I ignored so that I could see
The drips attempt to deter me failed
but I now see my foresight was just veiled
Warned I was to stray away from this path
but all I did was joke and laugh
As I assumed my arrival to my destination
A passerby gained my attention with information
"I'm sorry my friend," said the man,
"but what you've been waiting for is long gone."
"Gone?" I said, "How could this be?"
"I've waited so patiently."
The man said, "Seasons change,
We can't expect the morning glory to remain the same."
The gloomy sun then faded as it crossed the horizon
And was replaced by the moon as the night grew grim
My destination was right around the corner as assumed
But nothing waited for me as I felt marooned
The journey was over
But I'll keep my composure
Though I feel as if I had wasted time
I believe I'll find a dime
This isn't the end
Maybe my destination is actually around the bend
